I should preface this post by saying I love to cook/bake. However, when it comes to baking the only thing I've ever made from scratch are cookies. I one day hope to make bread like my Grandma Schow. She made the best bread. And sour cream cookies.
The first time I've used my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. Isn't is beautiful?? I finally have counter space for it!
The dough! I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to knead it and shape it. The last time I tried to make dough from scratch was for homemade chicken noodle soup. It did not look like this. In fact most of it was on my hands.
After hours of letting it rise, it's finally in the oven!
The final product. It looks like a loaf of French bread. And it tastes like a loaf of french bread! Success! Good to know should something ever happen, I can make bread.
